Jacob was from 's-Hertogenbosch (assumed) and was perhaps born there circa 1640.¹

Vrijbriewen and Burgher Status

On 2 April 1661, Jacob Fransz: was granted a vrijbrief or letter of freedom which released him from his contractual obligations to the VOC and accorded him the status of vrijburgher or free burgher. He was recorded as an arquebusier on the flute Hilversum.²
