BirthOrigin*Dirck was from Lunenburgh, (this would have been the Hanseatic town of Lüneburg in Lower Saxony), and was perhaps born there circa 1630. His age is estimated.2

Monsterrollen and Opgaafrollen (Muster and tax rolls)On 31 May 1657 Dirck Meyer was enumerated in the muster roll, as an arquebusier earning f 10.2
On 15 February 1658 Hendrick Hendricksz Boom was enumerated in the muster roll, among the freemen, as owner. Enumerated with him were Herman Ernst de Gresnicht, Cornelis Claasz and Dirck Mayer described as 'in his service.1'
On 1 March 1661 Dirck Meyer was enumerated in the muster roll, he was recorded as from Luynenburgh, arquebusier.3
Vrijbriewen and Burgher StatusOn 10 October 1657, Dirck Meyer was granted a vrijbrief or letter of freedom which released him from his contractual obligations to the VOC and accorded him the status of vrijburgher or free burgher.4
On 8 November 1658, Dirck Meyer was granted a vrijbrief or letter of freedom which released him from his contractual obligations to the VOC and accorded him the status of vrijburgher or free burgher. He was recorded as a sailor at the Fort.5
