Titus was from Bengal and was perhaps born there in 1672/73. He was said to be 27 or 28 years old in 1700.¹

On 6 October 1700 Titus van Bengale was sold by Octavius van Macassar to Jacob van der Kust Coromandel, for Rds. 63.^2,3
