Claas was from the Coromandel Coast and was perhaps born there circa 1684. He was said to be 26 years old in 1700.¹

Slave Emancipations

On 18 March 1700 Claas van de Kust Coromandel was emancipated by Joan Loockeman, he purchased his freedom for an unspecified amount.²
