Hannibal was from Macassar and was perhaps born there circa 1681. He was said to be 18 years old in 1699.¹

On 3 March 1699 Hannibal van Macassar was sold by Jacob Alewijn to Willem Adriaan van der Stel, for Rds. 65.²
