Jan was from the Malabar Coast and was perhaps born there circa 1669. He was said to be 30 years old in 1699.¹

Slave Transactions

On 14 February 1699 Jan van Malabar was sold by Johann Lorenz to Jan Schupping, for Rds. 111, Rds. 50 to be paid immediately, the balance of Rds. 61 one year hence.²
