Jacob was from Trancquebar and was perhaps born there in 1686/87. He was said to be 11 or 12 years old in 1698.¹

On 10 January 1698 Jacob van Trancquebar was sold by Cornelis Krijnsz Rood to Jan Dircks de Beer, for Rds. 50.²
