Carel was from Ceylon and was perhaps born there circa 1671. He was said to be 26 years old in 1697.¹

Slave Transactions

On 29 June 1697 Claas van Bengale and Carel van Selon were sold by Coenraad Warneer to Jan Wessels, for Rds. 80 and Rds. 70, respectively.²
