Jacob was from the Malabar Coast and was perhaps born there in 1673/74. He was said to be 23 or 24 years old in 1697.¹

On 12 June 1697 Jacob van Malabar was sold by Pieter van Eede to Henning Hüsing, for Rds. 80.²
