Cato was from the Madagascar and was perhaps born there circa 1681. She was said to be 16 years old in 1697.¹

Slave Transactions

On 5 March 1697 Cato van Madagascar was sold by Abraham van den Boogaard to Pieter Bareljee, for Rds. 66.¹
