Anthonij was from the Madagascar and was perhaps born there circa 1681. He was said to be 16 years old in 1697.¹

On 28 February 1697 Anthonij van Madagascar was sold by Bertram de Potter to Pieter Jansz Louw, for Rds. 85.²
