SlaveAbscond* | On 13 August 1692 Hannibal van Trancquebar, Scipio van Trancquebar, Nimrod van Trancquebar, Pakkolet van Trancquebar, Scanderbek van Trancquebar and Diogenes van Trancquebar fled into the interior of Mauritius following the stranding there of the Bengal Merchant, an English vessel. Roelof Diodati the new commander of Mauritius, undertook to try and aprehend them, and send them to the Cape and in the charge of Henning Hüsing until they could be handed over to their owners.1 |
