Jan was born de Caep de Goede Hoop He was described as a jongetjie in 1666 circa 1661.¹

Slave Transactions

On 6 April 1666 Jan Meeuw van Angola and Domingo van Angola were sold by Abraham Gabbema to Elbert Diemer; included in the sale were a young boy, Jan van de Caep, whose age was not specified, and a girl, Marij van de Caep, just 5 years old.^1,2
