Crime and related | On 23 June 1725 Lumke Thoole was sentenced "to stand exposed on the place of execution with a two-pronged wooden fork on her head" after it was revealed she was still married to Thys Geertz when, the previous year, she married Abraham Hartogh. She was then imprisoned in the home of the goaler before being sent back to Holland with her daughter, Maria Magdalena Hartogh.3 |
