BirthOrigin*Scipio was from Malabar Coast and perhaps born there circa 1674.1
Names in the record, in publications, etc.4 August 1688, the name of Scipio was written in the record as Scipio van der Kust Coromandel.2
Slave TransactionsOn 24 January 1687 Scipio van Malabar was sold by Jan Bouman to Jan Dircks de Beer, for Rds. 20.3
On 4 August 1688 Scipio van Malabar was sold by Jan Dircksen de Beer to Dirck van Cuijck, for Rds. 40. Although identified in this record as from the Coromandel Coast, I have assumed, with a view toward further discovery in the record, that this is the same individual purchased by Jan Dircks de Beer in 1687.2
