BirthOrigin*Jacob was from Malabar and may have been born there circa 1670.1
BaptismJacob Cornelis was baptized on 27 January 1697 Nederduitsche Gereformeerde Kerk, (Cape Town). This is an adult baptism which I believe to be correct for this former slave and is why he was able to marry in church a few years later.2
Marriage*He married Sara van Madagascar on 10 January 1700 Nederduitsch Gereformeerde Kerk, (Cape Town), de Caep de Goede Hoop.3,4
