Maria was from Coromandel Coast and was perhaps born there in 1674/75. I have assumed she was from the Coromandel Coast, but she could also have been from one of the other coastal regions such as Malabar, Madhur, etc.¹

Slave Transactions

On 26 May 1690 Maria van der Kust was sold by Hendrik Vernh to Julius Conradus Lasius, for Rds. 55.²
