He married Johanna de Villiers, daughter of Jacques de Villiers and Marguerite Gardiol, on 13 December 1739 Nederduitsch Gereformeerde Kerk, Drakenstein, de Caep de Goede Hoop. The marriage was performed by Ds. Salomon van Echten.^2,1
