Cupido was from the Malabar Coast and was perhaps born there in 1680/81. He was said to be 11 or 12 years old in 1692.¹

On 17 May 1692 Cupido van Malabar was sold by Siewert de Jongh to Cornelis Dekker, for Rds. 34.²
