He married Anna Maria Cortje, daughter of Philippe Cordier and Elisabet Malherbe, on 22 September 1748 Nederduitsch Gereformeerde Kerk, Drakenstein, de Caep de Goede Hoop. The marriage was performed by Ds. Salomon van Echten.²
