1 : "Richard Ball's Research:"
In 1759 Christoffel Smit and Catrijn la Febre drew up a document, (1/STB, 18/13 , 2), renouncing their inheritance from their deceased daughter Lijsbet Smit, wife of Anthonij Nortje. This document would imply three things:

she had died in 1759 or earlier
she had been married to Anthonij Nortje
there had been no children of the marriage

Renunciation of inheritance - Smit, Christoffel & Catrijn la Febre - 1759, 1/STB , 18/13,2:

'erfgenaamen ab intestato van wijle haare dogter Lijsbet Smit húijsvroúwe van Anthonij Nortjé'
