I am interested in tracing
what happened to my my Great Great Uncle William
Willcocks (born at Plympton St. Mary, Devon, UK in
1879). I know that William was working in the mining
industry in South Africa after 1901 (possibly around
Johannesburg). My grandmother remembered that he paid
yearly visits to his relatives in and around Plymouth,
Devon, UK before WWI.
In 1918 William was at the South African Hospital,
Richmond, Surrey, UK as a result of being wounded in
WWI. It would seem that he returned to South Africa at
some time between 1918 and 1926 and remained in South
Africa. I do not know what happened to him after this
Can anyone help?
